One Door Alabama is the official name of Alabama’s “No Wrong Door” program. The Alabama Medicaid Agency received a grant from the Administration for Community Living to implement a “No Wrong Door” system. When it comes to accessing Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS), current systems often duplicate enrollment processes leaving individuals feeling overwhelmed. Not to mention the difficulty an individual may experience when they are trying to locate information about long-term care services and supports.
One Door Alabama seeks to change the way individuals access LTSS in Alabama. We link individuals to a network of services and programs through a single point of entry. Alabama’s Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRC) serves as Alabama’s entry point. Our highly-trained ADRC Counselors are able to assist individuals with information and provide access to multiple services and programs regardless of the payer source. ADRC Counselors provide person-centered counseling and follow-up calls which is the key to helping individuals and their families make informed decisions on the services and programs available within their communities.
One Door Alabama is a partnership between the Alabama Medicaid Agency, Alabama Department of Senior Services, and Alabama Aging and Disability Resource Centers. One Door Alabama will expand its network experts by partnering with other local, state and federal agencies to also serve as entry points. One Door Alabama seeks to be the true source of information, referral, and assistance for Alabama’s LTSS community.
